HueForge Prints

What It Is:
HueForge prints use grayscale depth mapping to simulate color blending through layer depth—essentially turning light and shadow into pigment. These prints are created using multiple filament changes and meticulous slicing to form artwork that reveals its full beauty when backlit.

Technology Used:

  • Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with Automatic Material System (AMS)

  • Depth mapping in HueForge software

  • Multi-filament swapping for color gradation

  • Fine-tuned layer heights (40+ unique color layers)

Average Print Time:
🕒 10–20 hours (depending on size and detail)

Lithophanes (Traditional & Color-Enhanced Backlit Art)

What They Are:
Lithophanes are 3D-printed images designed to reveal their full detail and beauty only when backlit. Created by varying the thickness of the print, lighter areas let more light through, while darker areas are denser. We offer two types:

  • Traditional Lithophanes: Printed in white or ivory PLA, they produce striking grayscale images when placed in a window or lit from behind. Perfect for memorial portraits and timeless photography.

  • Color Lithophanes (CMYK): These use four colored filaments—Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black—to simulate full-color photo output. With the right lighting, they appear like glowing color prints.

 

Technology Used:

  • High-resolution slicing based on photo brightness

  • Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with AMS for CMYK versions

  • Single-filament printing for grayscale

  • Ideal for sentimental gifts, memorials, or scenic photography

Average Print Time:
🕒 4–6 hours (small grayscale lithophane)
🕒 6–12 hours (large or detailed grayscale)
🕒 12–20+ hours (color CMYK lithophane)
